Rhythmic Gymnastics is the perfect sport to build body awareness and co-ordination skills that will assist in the development of athletic potential for any sport. It is a sport that combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulation.
- Develops posture and confident body movement, for sport and for life
- Enhances co-ordination and agility, body awareness and balance
- Enhances creativity and builds self-confidence
- Increases flexibility and strength
- Develops healthy minds and positive attitude
Harmony between the gymnast, with the apparatus (rope, ball, hoop, ribbon) or free hands and the music with required body difficulties (leaps, balances, pivots, acrobatics), mastery and dance components are necessary to achieve a balanced routine.
Our most notable rhythmic gymnasts are Hannah Martin, who also participated in the talent show “The greatest dancer” and Mimi Cesar, who attended the Commonwealth Games in 2014 in Glasgow.
